Digital Discovery System - Overview

The Digital Discovery System (DDS) is an XML repository and search server that is built with Lucene and runs in Tomcat. Its repository is accessed through Web service APIs that may be used for a wide variety of applications.

Using DDS

Search the Repository - Peform keyword searchers over the DDS repository.

Manage the Repository - View and manage collections and items in the repository and change system settings.

Search API - Search the repository and access it's contents using a RESTful Web service API.

Repository Update API - Create, update and delete collections and items in the repository using a RESTful Web service API.

Installing and Configuring DDS

Download DDS - Download the DDS software.

Installation Instructions - Install DDS in a Tomcat servlet container.

Configure Data Sources - Configure DDS to use either the NSDL Data Repository (NDR) or the file system as a data source.

Configure Search Fields - Configure standard and custom search fields for any XML framework.
