This online science museum hosted by Cornell University features web-based exhibits and virtual worlds in a multi-user game environment. The programs offer educational science content and simulations that encourage teachers and K-12 students to learn about current research and build on their familiarity with current information technologies. Some exhibits are framed as galleries, some as games, and others as interactive laboratories in which students and educators interact to learn about topics ranging from wave science to genetics. The SciCentr web site features links to the exhibits and information and publications about the project. There are also resources for users such as information for downloading and installing software, documentation on using the resources, and lesson plans designed to assist coaches and educators in their use.
