Students will study the nature and transmission of the Rift Valley fever virus to determine ways to prevent an outbreak. This is one of several interdisciplinary problem-based learning modules for high school and middle school students addressing real-world problems in environmental earth science. Teacher pages include module notes, software information, and a teacher-to-teacher message board to share/borrow ideas for planning, facilitating, and assessing information. Situations and very clear instructions are given on how to implement problem-based learning in the classroom.Summary
