| Resource Title: | Every Day is Earth Day: Realistic Ways to Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle
|
|---|
| Description: | This science site has teams of students explore the problem of waste disposal and research ways to reduce, reuse, or recycle and the pros and cons of the various methods. They will "survey which methods of reducing, reusing, and recycling their family uses and give their opinions on which methods they think are easiest." Each team will "create a Top 10 list of realistic and effective methods for families to reduce, reuse, and recycle." They will create a multimedia ad campaign to help inform other Michigan people about the problem and try to convince them to follow their suggestions for reducing, reusing, and recycling. This teaching unit addresses the following Standards for Teaching and Learning: Higher Order Thinking, Substantive Conversation, and Connections to the World Beyond the Classroom. |
