| Description: | Lawrence Hall of Science is a resource center for preschool through high school science and mathematics education, and a public science center with hands-on experiences for learners of all ages. Home of the William Knox Holt Planetarium, there is extensive educational programming centered on astronomy, including Planetarium Activities for Student Success kits for purchase that illustrate basic principles of astronomy. Earthquakes, erosion, wind and weather are the focus of the Forces that Shape the Bay exhibits, and there are also a number of exhibits highlighting math and physics. The website provides many online games and home activities available for download. The Lawrence Hall of Science Center for Curriculum Innovation creates instructional materials in mathematics and science for preschool through 12th graders for use by students, teachers and other educators, parents and families, and the website provides an array of information on the various programs. Title II funding for professional development is available. |
