Resource Title:Society for Advancement of Chicanos and Native Americans in Science
Description:The mission of the Society for Advancement of Chicanos and Native Americans in Science (SACNAS) is to encourage Chicano/Latino and Native American students to pursue graduate education and obtain the advanced degrees necessary for science research, leadership, and teaching careers at all levels. Materials include the Biography Project, a resource for K-12 educators who are interested in teaching their students about the accomplishments of Chicano/Latino and Native American scientists. Career profiles of scientists, mathematicians and engineers are organized by last name, subject/discipline, and by grade level; there is also a separate listing of women scientists. A listing of job opportunities posted is also provided.
