Resource Title:Ratios in probability
Description:This lesson asks students to compare the probability of winning a prize from three cola companies. Beginning with a discussion about the ratios of winning bottle caps for each company, the four-part lesson has students determine which of three student classes will have the highest probability of collecting the most winning caps. To support their answers, students work with multiplying fractions and plot points on the Cartesian plane. Questions to facilitate class discussions and guide student work are provided. Reproducible overheads and student handouts are also included. Copyright 2005 Digital Libraries @ The Ohio State University
